Biography

Alison grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia. She always knew that she belonged in a place that was a little bit out of the ordinary. A place where she could explore nature, culture, people, music, education, love and self. She moved to California at the age of 18 and ended up in San Francisco. She put herself through college doing odd jobs. Finally she graduated from San Francisco State University with a self designed major. Singing, acting, dancing, and global peace studies.

Alison has dappled in a variety of creative outlets such as songwriting, photography, mosaics, collages, interior design, jewelry making, and nature sculptures. She began writing in a diary at the age of seven and explored the art of gluing seashells together at the age of six. At twelve she took her first stunning photograph which convinced her that she had an eye for it and has been photographing ever since.

In recent years she began assisting friends through the birthing process. She brought her camera with her and found that people loved to have this precious time of pregnancy captured on film. Since then she has taken many pictures of pregnant women, couples, babies, animals, in the most romantic and comfortable of settings, nature. Alison prefers to photograph outside using the sun to light her subjects, shooting in color and black and white.

As well, she enjoys collecting antiques and old unique items. Bringing nature inside the home has always been part of Alison’s natural expression found in her style of decorating, making nature sculptures from drift wood, and seashells, to photographing nature. She has decided to break free from working for others do what she loves for a living, which is all that is in this website.

Photography
Her favorite subjects are people and animals in nature. Alison is drawn towards the lovely images of smiling babies, proud moms and dads, beautiful pregnant women, the sensuality of two people together or alone, and the ever loyal cats, dogs, birds etc…
She likes to go somewhere outside where you feel comfortable such as a quiet beach, under a cloudy or sunny sky, in a meadow of flowers, or amongst the trees. She prefers to take 2 rolls of color, and two rolls of black and white.

Antiques and Uniques
Ali loves collecting wild, lovely, old, funky, unique and antique items from estate sales, yard sales, and antique sales. You can get an idea of her tastes by viewing the photos in this section. They are colorful, playful and quite varied. Because all of these items are properly aged they may have some wear and tear.

Jewelry, Baubles
Because she is drawn to decorating things, Ali loves decorating the body with beads. She enjoys combining colors and is particularly attracted to glass beads that capture the light as well as African trading beads, and beads made of semi-precious stones as well.

Wisdom, Blessings, and Inspiration
With fabric found at estate sales , Ali has collected pieces of homemade needlework and incorporated them with hand stitched wisdom which she has gathered from life’s travels, framing them with old and antique frames.

Nature Collages, Sculptures
Made of drift wood, seashells, moss, dried flowers, mushrooms and more, Ali has created wonderful pieces of art which allows other nature lovers to bring the ocean and the outside into the inside…of your home.
